You've gotta love those days when you let your dog out to go potty and she decides to take herself for a walk. . . and then vanishes when you run inside to throw on some flip flops. Yes, I roamed the neighbor hood for 15 minutes, 9 months pregnant with bed head, no bra, and make up smeared all over my face from my quick face wash before bed last night. Looking good Jen, looking good. I swear I'm going to kill that dog.

Start of a New Chapter
Yesterday was officially my last day at work (well for now. . . maybe). I decided that I didn't really want to be driving a hour to get home to the hospital should the baby decide to come early. (No baby so far). I thought my last day would either be filled with overwhelming joy or tears of sadness. But I really felt nothing. . . just seemed like any ordinary work day and that I'll be going back on Monday. I don't think it will hit me for a while. Now the question is. . . what do I do with all of my free time until this baby comes?

Just Thoughts
Why does my dog refuse to go to the bathroom in our yard and insist on going in the next door neighbor's yard?
Does anyone else have a husband that puts his dirty clothes right next to the dirty clothes hamper but never in it?
I could eat a whole watermelon for dinner every night.
I've lost all motivation to do anything productive on my days off. I just sit around.
My life is in limbo right now. . . waiting for my job to end, waiting for my baby to come, waiting to hear from one more grad school, waiting to move. . . can't we just get on with things?
Everything is uncomfortable. . . I need a new bed, couch, car, etc., etc., etc. (well maybe I just need to get this baby out).
I spent three and one half hours at the spa the other day. Very relaxing. . . but so not my type of people. . . . can't anyone have a normal conversation?
Why do I grocery shop and then feel like I have no food?

I Don't Do Laundry
I have problems. . . . problems with washing things in the washing machine that don't belong there. At the beginning of our marriage I tried to be a good wife and did Joseph's laundry. On one such occasion Joseph inquired as to whether I had seen his cell phone in the pocket of his jeans. Oops. I totally washed it. . . . and dried it. And then stuck in in a food dehydrator. A few hours later good as new. Dodged a bullet on that one. It was then I swore never to do Joseph's laundry again.
Fast forward to last weekend. Joseph and I were on our way up to my parents house to spend the night and I thought it best to do a couple of loads of laundry so we'd have some clean clothes for the coming week (long ago forgetting that I no longer did Joseph's laundry). I learned from the cell phone experience to check Joseph's pockets for surprises and did this before throwing my last load into the washer. We gathered our things, packed up the car and on the way out the door I threw that last load into the dryer. As we're driving down the street Joseph says, "you didn't wash my gray shorts did you?" "Yeah, why?" I replied. "Well my new ipod was in the pocket." At that moment my heart sunk, my stomach churned and my face grew bright red (with anger or embarrassment I'm not sure). Immediately I became defensive and tried to pin this one on Joseph. Shouldn't he remove such items from his pockets before throwing them in the dirty clothes basket? I had checked his pockets but he informed me he had been using the cargo pockets on the side of his pants as of late "to store important things." Yeah, wish I had known that. We swung around and came back home to make sure I had actually washed it. And I had. We tried to turn it on. . . no luck. I plugged it in to charge to see if it would respond. . . no luck. So off we went to my parents house. Good weekend not too much thought about the ruined ipod (well after the pregnancy tears that were shed over it).
To my surprise however when we returned the ipod was fully charged and working (well the down volume button doesn't work, but can we really be picky here?). Oh yeah and the head phones still work that I washed along with it. Sigh, I can't believe I've yet to ruin an electronic device that I've washed and dried. Moral of the story here. . . DON'T EVER DO JOSEPH'S LAUNDRY AGAIN (for real this time), because don't they say third times the charm?

Oh yeah. . . it's been 4 years
I almost forgot. Joseph and I celebrated our four year anniversary last Thursday. It was a busy weekend filled with graduations and weddings, but we managed to squeeze in a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We're not much for taking pictures, so here's an old one.

Road Biking
Joseph takes Daisy on his afternoon bike rides. She gets all excited when he gets out his little draw string bag that she gets stuffed into. She patiently rides on his back with her head on his shoulder from anywhere to around the block to 10-15 miles up the canyon. I also got a road bike (looks exactly the same as Joseph's) and will hopefully be joining my little biking family in a few short months.
