DNA

I heard someone say once that Watson genes were recessive; but my mom sent me some pictures the other day that I found interesting.  For example...

And this one we took.
Which is pretty cool because now I guess we know how Ruby is going to look here in a few years.

Take that Jess Howe and the clone army you're building!

We've been busy

The last few weeks have flown by.  We've been busy traveling, celebrating, growing up, studying, working, watching football, playing, biking, the list goes on and on.  Here are a few highlights:

Ruby had her 4 month check up.  She weighs 15 pounds and gets chunkier every day.  I swear if her cheeks get any bigger she won't be able hold her head up anymore.  After her shots she slept for 3 hours.  I guess crying wiped her out.

Just a cute picture.

Ruby started eating solids.  She loves rice cereal, sweet potatoes and carrots.  She hasn't made up her mind about bananas yet.

My big brother tied the knot a few weeks ago.  Here he is with his gorgeous bride.

The sisters - yes I'm hunched over because I wore heels which made me a giant.

The brothers minus Joseph (probably holding a sleeping baby)

Everyone but the newly weds.

We've been in Vegas for over two months now, it's gone by fast but feels like forever.  We're staying busy and loving the weather for anyone who wants to come visit :)

The Ruby

New Sunglasses.  She can't figure them out.  She cried for a little bit until she realized she could still see with them on.

Cutest swimsuit ever from G-mama and G-daddy.  Thank you!  Now we need to put her whole ensemble together.

Just a funny face.  She loves to spit. . . we have to wear protective eye wear when entering the splash zone.

Summer or Fall I Guess

Amazing what a long walk in the fall heat will do.  (Yes that's a drip of drool.. . . so tired).
Also we love chubby cheeks. . . don't you just want to bite them?

Tried out the mini pony again today.  She moved every time I tried to get a good picture.

Synchronized swimming

Ruby is trying out for US synchronized swimming team for the next summer Olympics. . .yeah she's that good!  She may have only been to the pool twice but she's a natural.

Who said white girls can't sport a do-rag?  Forget the urban dictionary that states that it is "something that white people should never wear."

Showing mom how to tread water.

Sad that mom is cheating by standing.

Power nap after a long practice.

Sitting in a massage chair for the aches and pains.

But seriously is she not the cutest baby ever?

Dowidopetre

We had a crazy rain storm last night.  Sheets of warm rain came down interspersed with wind, thunder and lightening.  It was awesome!  This morning I walked outside expecting to get a whiff of fresh rain scent but to my disappointment it just smelled like dog urine.  I know it's not dog urine, there is a certain tree here that smells like dog urine. . . I'm not sure which type of tree it is. . . needless to say we live in Dowidopetre.  DOwn-WInd-from-the-DOg-PEe-TREe. (this would only make sense if you watch How I Met Your Mother).  Now there is a whole new meaning to "it's raining cats and dogs. . . "

1st day of school and things

Joseph has officially started grad school. He mostly loves it. So far he thinks UNLV is interesting. . . his eyes come home burning everyday from all the skin he sees (male & female). He constantly studies so even though he's home we don't get to play with him too often.
Ruby has grown a lot since we got to Vegas. She now reaches for toys and can hold them for a few seconds before her arms wig out.
She still has great hair which continues to grow and still refuses to lay down. We don't need headbands anymore. . . Ruby's hair is long enough for bows and even tiny ponytails (you can kind of see one in the picture above).
She wants to sit up ALL of the time and fusses when she's not up where she can see what everyone is doing.
She gets stronger everyday. . . watch out she might be crawling soon!
